Volkswagen is showing off a sporty R-Line version of the Tiguan at the Essen auto show in Germany.
Started just last year with the Golf, Touran, Passat and Touareg, the R-Line consists primarily of cosmetic upgrades that enhance a VW's sporting appearance.
On the Tiguan, the signature R-Line treatment includes 19-inch multi-spoke alloy wheels, a body-color aerodynamic kit, black diffuser in the bottom of the rear bumper, black extensions over the wheel wells, chrome applications on the doors, and double-slat chrome grille.
A sport suspension is also included.
A second R-Line package, that can be had in addition to the above or on its own, offers the 19-inch wheels, sport suspension — plus interior details such as sport seats, a multifunction leather steering wheel with flat bottom, and metal pedals. Leather sport seats are optional.
The R-Line is a European offering and not available in North America. But maybe someday.
