Volkswagen Canada has dropped the prices on nearly all of its vehicles — by as little as $200 on the two-door Rabbit to as much as $5,800 on the Touareg V8. The reductions took effect on Feb. 15.
This is in response to the rising Canadian dollar, which has made buying a VW in the United States much cheaper than buying one in Canada. Millions of Canadians live close to the border and many have saved thousands by buying a vehicle in the USA and driving it back.
Volkswagen is following the lead of other automakers, which have been dropping their Canadian prices since last fall.
The chart below outlines the price reduction on each VW model.
