Consumer Reports Rates GTI Tops May 15, 2006  The consumer watchdog organization rated the GTI as the Top Sporty Car Under $25,000, citing its powerful engine, spirited performance, interior quality and long list of standard safety features. The next Consumer Reports question that begs answering: Can the GTI, along with other new-generation VWs, shed its reputation for spotty reliability? Time will tell.
