Passat Wins Big Award In Europe March 3, 2006  Forty-million people can't be wrong. This is how many Europeans took part in the Auto 1 award, voting the Volkswagen Passat number one. Forty-million readers of 24 European magazines narrowed a list to 13 models, with 40 automotive editors and experts making the final pick. This is the second Auto 1 win for the Passat. The first was in 1997. News of the award is sure to bolster sales of the Passat, which already enjoys a commanding 26-percent share of Germany's mid-size market.
