Sales Down, Eos At 894 In Second Month Oct. 3, 2006  Volkswagen's USA sales dropped in September. Compared to the year-ago month, 20,082 VWs rolled off dealer lots versus 21,646 in September 2005. Versions of models that bucked the trend include the Passat wagon, up 28 percent, and the Beetle convertible, up 4.2 percent. And although the Rabbit does not show sales as an increase or decrease (because it wasn't available last year), when compared to the Golf it replaced, its sales held steady. In its second month of sales, the Eos sold 894 copies for a two-month total of 1,348. In Canada, where the Eos has yet to be released, sales last month dropped 4.9 percent over September 2005. The Touareg was up 59 percent and the Jetta 20.7 percent.
