Celebrity-Signed Touareg Hood On E-Bay
March 7, 2006

Actors including Greg Kinnear, center, autograph the Touareg hood.
What do Jennifer Aniston, Matt Dillon, Robert Redford and the Volkswagen Touareg have in common? These celebrities — plus 52 others — scribbled their autographs on the SUV's hood.
And now you can own this hood — for a price, of course.
The hood, along with $2,500 in goodies, is being auctioned on E-Bay with all proceeds to support Redford's Sundance Institute, a non-profit cultural organization. Click here to view the auction, which closes March 13.
The Touareg was signed on Jan. 19 during the 2006 Sundance Film Festival in Park City, Utah. For the second consecutive year, Volkswagen was the official vehicle of the event.
"Here's one case where it's what's on the hood rather than under the hood that counts," quipped Heidi Korte, brand promotions manager for Volkswagen Of America. "We're pleased to continue our tradition of gathering autographs to benefit the Sundance Institute. The attending celebrities and filmmakers support the cause, and the finished product is a work of art and enduring symbol of the talent and indie power that drive the film festival."
Volkswagen also supported the Sundance Film Festival by being a presenting sponsor, hosting the Volkswagen Main Street Lounge, and awarding a Touareg for one year to an aspiring filmmaker.
Showcasing American and international film, the Sundance Film Festival celebrated its 25th year in 2006. Some of the movies that rose to popularity after making Sundance debuts include Clerks, In The Bedroom and Napoleon Dynamite.
